Lukáš Horný deals with biomechanics of blood vessels; especially methods of nonlinear continuum mechanics describing a response of heterogeneous, (in)elastic material. He pays special attention to internal structure of blood vessels because the structure and the arrangement crucially affect mechanical response.

Lukáš Horný is Principal co-investigator in the project of applied research TA04010330 "Development of resorbable collagen-calcium phosphate nanolayer with controlled elution of antibiotics for implants survival enhancement" supported by Technology Agency of the Czech Republic.

Lukáš Horný is a lecturer in Biomechanics I and II and Project II and III.

He has opened new course entitled Pathobiomechanics of cardiovascular system.
