Ultrasonic measurements of velocity profiles in liquids - UVP-DUO-MX Monitor

Project description:

System UVP-DUO-Monitor

Measurement of velocity profile flowing liquid in the solid and elastic tube

Detected velocity profile in tube

Ultrasonic system HiDop 300 for measurement of mean velocity of liquid flow

UVP (Ultrasonic Velocity Profiling) refers to both the method and device for measuring the instantaneous values of velocity profile of fluid flow along the ultrasound beam by detecting the reflected ultrasound Doppler shift versus time. UVP can be measured in various liquids and large-scale applications. UVP Monitor parameters are optimized primarily for measurements in water. It is the most common liquid measured. UVP can be used in a many of opaque-phase liquids, in which the measurement of conventional methods was virtually impossible. But it is necessary to pay considerable attention to the propagation characteristics of ultrasound in multiphase and multicomponent systems. This also applies to the basic two-step liquid-gas. US sensor can be placed in the liquid and outside the walls of the measured channel or tube. UVP can also detect reverse flow at each point of measurement. Doppler frequency is in direct physical relation to the flow velocity, UVP method does not require calibration. But we need to know the speed of sound in the liquid. Velocity profile is measured and displayed in real time, so you can directly optimise the flow, or use UVP-DUO Monitor measurement as an on-line feedback for technological processes. From time sequences of profiles, possibility to compute turbulence statistics, spatial correlation, power spectrum, histograms, and other relevant data arises.
