Finite element model of a knee joint

Mathematical model of a knee joint serving for a verification of all components of a knee joint endoprothesis is prepared using a finite element method. A goal is a dynamic problem featuring aside the endoprothesis itself all three bones articulating in the human knee, and all the most important muscles and ligaments. Simultaneously, additional research of a material model of a UHMWPE is running to assure its behaviour as accurate as possible in our mathematical model.
